VO Beijing 2011 passport had been submitted in April and still NO response

Hi guys,

I wonder if there is anyone here who has experience with CIC Visa Office Beijing.
My husband and I have submitted the application at the end of January and we got approval for him to sponsor me in February.

In March I have received an email from CIC in Beijing asking for my passport and CSQ to be submitted. I sent my passport in April and emailed the copy of my CSQ as well (Quebec informed me that another original CSQ will be forwarded to VO in Beijing).

Here's the problem. I am not a Chinese citizen and I am here on a working resident visa, which will expiry in September. I still have not heard from the CIC in Beijing and it has been almost 4 months since they had my passport.

Do you think I can contact them now or should I patiently wait till September? Will they provide me my passport back (so at least I can extend my visa)? Your advise is very much appreciated.
