I and my husband got married on 6th July 2011, in Karachi Pakistan; I stayed there for 6 months and came back to canada. The reason I came back is that I am 6 month Pregnant, and my due date is on August 4th, 2012. i heard many ppl sayin that they dont give visa's on these types of cases.. I have all the required documents they asked.. but one of my frnd plus immigration consultant in islamabad said that the case might get rejected the reason he gave to my husband is that, Many husbands visit there wife in canada but they dont come back,

I really need some help here should i contact CIC over here in Canada? or Pakistan? can some one help me out. and tell me whats the best thing to do..

Hi there- I have recently applied for a TRV my wife is a canadian citizen and she lives there. We have never applied for citizenship though we did get married in 2008. Lets see what happens. I am just visiting canada for a month. We have two children together. I have got single entry TRV before (3 months long) this time I have applied for a multiple TRV. I applied on Feb 20. So will know in about couple weeks time lets see what happens with it. I'll suggest you to apply with all supporting and required documents. Your husband should ideally have a job here in Pakistan, parents living here is good(to prove ties). In the invitation letter you can write what are the reasons hes coming to visit and how long he would be staying. Canadian govt has a pretty messed up TRV system in place for spouses of canadian citizen. Though they have recently started super visa for parents I wish they would start a spousal visa category under TRV. Others here have reported mixed results. Some spouses did end up getting TRV and some did not....so its always a 50-50. Your case seems pretty strong and valid to me you can justify to the VO why hes coming...(tell them you cant travel since youre pregnant, and him coming to canada is the only way he can be with me at this important event in our life) The invitation letter and the supporting documents will count a lot here. They see the motive behind the visit. Previous Travel history would also be important to take into account...etc If you need help with application-invitation letter etc you can contact me and i can guide you.

btw immigration consultants - friends or no friends they would advice you against TRV since they don't make much money with just a TRV. If you do the family sponsorhsip they will make alot of money. I have heard 95% imm consultants would advice against applying for a TRV(in husband-wife cases). But its a myth that if you are a spouse of a canadian citizen you will always get declined. Though your chances do decrease quite a bit if you have APPLIED for a PR for your spouse and then you apply for a TRV, as then the VO will know that the visitors intention might be to stay in canada permanently. Hope all this helps to make you decide what you want to do. If i had to tell you what you should do - then my answer is to apply. Single entry costs Rs6500($75). A rejection wont hurt either way. all you would lose is 6500 rupees. But your cases is strong and you have a valid reason for your husbands trip.

I don't know how can your husband contact the CHC in islamabad, usually nobody from the public can talk to them unless you know someone inside personally or your application has taken more then the average expected time for processing a TRV. Well here are some of things I would mention which you can present at the high commission: bank account of your husband, his job letter, shows he has property in his name, parents, bro, sis live in pakistan and then your invitation letter in which you clearly state what is the purpose of his visit, maybe you can show a letter from your dr that you are expecting a child in aug. Like i said its always a 50-50 in husband-spouse cases but still I am confused how can your husband contact the CHC and ask them if that was the case then so many people would call CHC and ask them upfront if they are going to get accepted or not. First time I have heard someone has contacted the CHC and asked them a question like that. My advice would still be to apply with all these required and supporting documents and see what happens...

My bad, he called the FEDEX people,, who fwd the files to CHC.. thats what he told me... he has all the documents except the property which he doesn't have it.

Plus 2 of his siblings are here already and one is moving in October, so over there his parents n 2 other siblings will be left.. I have the letter and all the stuff.. the only thing is tht i can not support him financially. I think I should Reply.

Ya one more thing, the Fedex people said we hvnt applied for the immigration yet, so he told them had some personal problems... so he said you should apply for immigration rather then visa,, so he told them tht my wife is already pregnant and the time duration for pakistanis are now 24 months, so we thought its better to apply for visa n then go for immigration. the fedex persoeyn waz like, you should hve submit the file, if some of the documents were missing they will mail you and stuff,, and that 24 month duration time is for those who do not submit there complete file.. :S

Can i Apply both at a same time now?? m so confused.

If you apply for immigration then your chances of getting a visitors visa drastically reduces bcuz then the VO knows the applicants intention is to move to canada for good. SO i would suggest you apply for a single entry since it will be your husband's first time going to Canada. The letter can be a page long, if you will not be supporting him then Husband(the applicant) in his cover page will write that all his expenses related to the trip will be covered by himself..(show bank account statement, income/salary slips etc). We haven't applied for immigration either and its a 2 yr + process from Pakistan. Maybe in future we will, but no immediate plans of applying for PR and I have applied for a multiple since I have already got 1 TRV before (3month long). Applying for Multiple now as you know it's a little difficult to keep getting all the documents required and then also keep applying every year (spend money in fees etc) too much hassle!

Google invitation letters you will get some good tips on there. If you still need help writing one email me on here and I can give you some pointers/guideline. saadtarik@gmail.com
