Visitor's Visa Approved or Declined?

Hello Peeps,

How can one know if visiting visa application is approved or declined asides the generic response one gets from the Embassy which says:
"Dear Applicant, we would like to inform you that your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office on October 20, 2016 to the Canada Visa Application Centre. you can track the status of your application through our website mentioned below using your tracking number: 20160916CALATRVXXXX"

I actually thought there would be an approval mail first.

Please share your experiences.

You will find out when you get your passport back. There will either be a visa glued in your passport, or a letter explaining the refusal.

Does the title of the mail which is "Application Accepted/Recu depuis l’Ambassade" suggest anything positive?

It just means the embassy received your application. There is no decision yet at this point. Good luck though.

I'm not sure to be honest.. For us, the VAC called us to say they had received our passport back and to come pick it up. It's in an envelope which they can't open so they don't know if it's approved or not. We went to VAC and found out there that we were approved.

Hopefully you don't have to wait too long to get your passport back!
