hello everyone.
Im planning to apply for student visa for september 2013 intake and before that i have a cousin's marriage in canada in july so can u please suggest me how i can go on visitor's visa in july and then continue there till september and join college directly without coming back to India? Is it possible to do so because going and coming twice in such a short period is becoming very expensive.

please give ur valuable suggestions. thanks in advance.
 
don't think so

1. you can only have 1 visa type at a time... so its either a visitor or student

2. you can't change your status from visitor to student or vice versa while in Canada.

So your only option is to get a visitor visa, go attend the wedding, come back and apply for a student visa.

Unless you apply for a summer intake and get a student visa before the wedding. That way you can be a wedding guest on a student visa.

i will be applying for student visa from India itself before applying for visitor's visa. and once i get student visa for september then i will apply for visitor's visa for july. cant i stay back and join college directly still?? because its not that im applying for student visa from canada. im still a bit confused!

why would you apply for a visitor visa if you get a student visa?

you can travel to canada on your student visa as early as it allows you to.

U mean if i get student visa for september 2013 ..i can go there in the1st week of july 2013 itself, on this visa? What if they issue me d visa from september. Please clear this to me. Thanks

The thing is i have to go in july end on visitors visa so if somebody could advice me if there is any way that i can continue to be there till september..n dont have to come back to india n then again go on student visa. Assuming that study visa for september intake is both applied and accepted in India.. that is before july.
Experts i would be grateful for ur advice

people,is it true that it is currently difficult to get a visitor visa if you're not a student?
