Hi,

I am thinking of applying for an ETA with an invitation letter from my girlfriend in Canada however I was there as a student visa before but had to leave because of ineligibility. So I had to leave Canada and I had some unpaid debts will this affect my ETA application and if there’s other options please let me know

Can anyone help with ETA issue. Applied 5 days ago. No confirmation email so no way to fill contact form as it asks for application number. Wife applied same day as me, she got her ETA through same day. Applied for both on same device and with same payment. Both payments have been taken from bank but we didn't get confirmation emails and I have had nothing at all. Tried to fill contact form without app number, but the drop down list does not have ETA so had to pick closest one. Not sure if will even go to the correct department.

Did you read the link and respond. If more than 5 days then gone to manual review. You can try and apply again. If not received same day then again it has gone to annual review. Have you travelled to Canada before? Been charged?

Thanks for replying. I read all that help page on the site. Because it says after 72 hrs tried to do contact form but the option it says to choose isn't an option in the drop down. Sent the form but think it will be wrong. Never been to canada, never had any charges anywhere. Never been refused entry to any country. Only ever been abroad for holidays. This is also just for a holiday. Like I say can't do the normal check as didn't get any confirmation email. I know this can happen . Just hard to check progress if don't have that app number yet. Payment has been taken so I'm assuming something will happen. It's it likely that it will just be taking more time than my wife's app and that someone will contact??

what is your citizenship? Apply again and see what happens. I get ETA when I go through the form What did you apply for>temporary resident>ETA

If not approved then you are in a manual review with no timelines. You wait until you receive information.
