Hi everyone,

I need some guidance regarding my Canada tourist visa refusal.

I recently applied for a visitor visa in October 2025, but it was rejected. In the refusal letter, they mentioned that I do not have family ties outside Canada, which is not correct—I do have family in my home country and also I have my own residence in India. I’m confused about how to properly prove this if I reapply.

Also, I noticed that my visa fee was not fully refunded. Is this normal, or should I contact IRCC or my bank/agent regarding the refund?

Could anyone please advise:

• How to strengthen proof of family ties for reapplication?
• Whether I should apply again or file for GCMS notes first?
• Is the visa fee refundable in case of rejection?

Any help or shared experiences would be really appreciated.

Your family is spouse and children under 22. So they are not coming with you to Canada? You don't have any family or relatives in Canada? You don't get a refund on your fee if they reviewed your file and you got a decision. An officer reviewed your file and that costs money. Only get a refund, if you had withdrawn your application before opened by an officer.

Was that the only reason for refusal?

If you don't have any family ties, there's no way to strengthen that. Try to strengthen your other strengths like ties to return, purpose of visit, funds, etc.

GCMS is always a good idea.

You won't get any refund in this case.
