Hi everyone,

I received a refusal for my Canadian visitor visa application (me & my wife) today (second time) , my first time applying was on August 2025 and they replied after 1 month with refusal. I was hoping to get some insights from this community on how to interpret the decision and what my next steps should be.

Here's a summary of my & wife profile and application:

  • Nationality: We both are Egyptian
  • Country of Residence: Kuwait (We have a valid work visa)
  • Profession: Me: Accountant , Wife: Pharmacists
  • Employment Status: I’m working on private sector , my wife is working on ministry of health
  • Ties to Home Country/Country of Residence: My mother resides in Egypt. My wife family resides in Kuwait.
  • Travel History: We traveled to Malaysia two times , on 2024 for two weeks , on 2023 one week , we also traveled to Indonesia for one week on 2023 , traveled to Saudi arabia two times this year for one week each. Also my wife had schenghen two times before on 2015 & 2016 , Traveled to Kenya, Argentina also.
  • Purpose of Trip: Tourism trip to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City for a duration of 19 days.

Despite all this, my application was refused. The officer's notes are:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-179.html

). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

So my question is what should I do now? What are my options now? Should I reapply or should I wait?

1. Family ties: No ties to return. Ties are spouse and children. Don't even live in same country as mother. Wife can show she supports her parents 24/7 as their caregiver with doctor's notes. Show who cares for them while she is gone.
2. No travel history to the US, UK, NZ or AUS. That is all IRCC cares about.
3. Don't live in country of citizenship. Biggest issue.

What are your actual ties to return other than a job? When does work permit expire? Your profile is not strong as you have no family ties, don't live in country of citizenship, on work permit and no travel history.

There is no actual need to travel to Canada and after 2 visa refusals reapplying will only concern IRCC even more about your genuine intentions. Agree apply and see if you can visit the US, UK, etc. Once you have visited at least another country with stricter visa requirements then you can attempt to visit Canada again.

What are your actual ties to return other than a job? I provided my car license here on kuwait , Kuwait apartment lease agreement and for egypt , my egypt car license , real estate deed , agricultural land deed apartment lease agreement (all of it is on arabic)

When does work permit expire? It will expire on November 2025 , I will renew it after some days and for my wife it will expire one year from now.

Your work permit expires in a month and you wanted to visit Canada right before expiry...big red flag. Other actual ties are living in country of citizenship, and spouse and children not accompanying. Egyptian license and land are not ties if you don't even live and work there. A driver's license doesn't prove you will go back...can get a license anywhere.

If not intention to return to Egypt then Kuwait Permanent residency (not work permit), income property, investments and business.
