I am inviting my parents over for summer. They plan to stay for 3 months.
But on CIC website it says to apply for super visa the applicants need to "have valid Canadian medical insurance coverage for at least one year".
I am wondering why they need the insurance coverage for one year if they only plan to stay 3 month. I will get the insurance coverage for my parents for sure but only for the period they stay.
I want the super visa because it can save some trouble in the future when they do want to stay longer. I won't need to get the visa again.
But that requirement really baffles me. Maybe I should just get a regular visa for them? Not sure if they have the similar medical insurance requirements for a regular visitor. can not find anything on CIC website. Any suggestions?
