I received AIP the day before yesterday and now I am planning to apply for a visa for my spouse.

Will it be safe to apply for a SOWP or Visitor visa for my spouse as of now by considering the scenario that I’ll be taking online classes initially and haven’t received the visa stamping yet on my passport as VFS centers are still closed in India?

You should wait until you get your full student permit. Given that you are studying online this semester and your wife doesn’t meet the travel restrictions there is no rush.

Thank you for your prompt reply. By study permit do you mean to say that I need to first land in Canada or once stamping will be done at my passport and status will be changed to "Approved" in the GC account?

You need full approval not just 1st stage.
