My parents applied for visitor visa with my father as primary applicant and my mother as secondary applicant.
My mother immediately received biometrics instructions, there has been no message on my fathers application since submitting one week ago.

Is this a problem? Can my mother go ahead and submit her biometrics or she should wait for primary applicant to also get biometrics request?

Thank you, appreciate any help

No issue, your mother can submit her biometrics. Your father will get his biometrics letter later, it happens. How old is he by the way? He might not need to submit biometrics if he is older than 79.

Oh I did not know that, interesting, he just turned 80 earlier this year. Does that mean he will have to provide biometrics later in the process during interview or just waived in general? In case its relevant they both have active US visitor visas, not sure if that matters

Yes, iIf he is older than 79, then he is exempt from giving his biometrics.

But the age was locked in when they submitted the application. So to be exempt he should have been already 80 at that time.

He was above 80 at application time, thank you for clarifying that.

Do you know if there is added scrutiny for above 80 for medical reasons for a visitor visa. He is in good health as such (touch wood) and has a valid US tourist visa and many short trips to US in the last decade

Is it a super visa?
