hello seniors & frnds
i went to canada in 2011 on study visa and worked for one yr on pgwp for one year, then returned back to home country in 2013.
remained free for almost a year and started doing job in feburary 2014. What are my cahnces of getting tourist visa of canada now as i have a letter of invitation from my friend.
i also have a multiple entry usa visa but never used.
Plz reply......

Friends/ seniors plz reply...as i m very tensed & confused abt it

having a US visa is not a guaranteed especially if still unused. On my first application, I already had my US visa but havent traveled to the US, and I was denied. Second application, I already used the US visa and my TRV was approved. (This scenario may be taken as case to case and does not necessarily applies to everyone).

Likewise of having a letter of invitation is not a guaranteed but sure it helps support your purpose of visit. Your application will be solely decided based on your own circumstances and ties in your current country of residence (jobs, family, business, etc).

As you have already been to Canada before and I assume you did not violate your previous visa terms, you have a strong points on this but not a guarantee of getting a visa.

Yeah... this is a common place for Mexicans travelling to Canada. We first get the US Visa, then the Canadian Visa. Why? Flights are cheaper and schedules are more flexible. Therefore we submit our applications before using the US Visa (which would make sense because the reason you are requesting a US Visa is "for transit").

Then it has no value for Canada visa purpose. Transit does not mean you visited USA.

I put it in quotes because Mexicans usually don't apply for a C Visa (transit) we apply for the B1/B2 Visa (visitor).

So yes, it is valid for Canadian Visa purposes.

thanks kewl for your reply and may i know why your application was denied for thr first time?
also tell me if i went to us now and from there i apply for canada visitor visa, will it be easier for me to get the canada trv?
