Just received PHAC approval for my wife. The validity period for the document is just one month and we haven't applied for the TRV as yet, will probably submit it in a few days, what are the chances that TRV gets approved within the validity period? Also, if the document expires during the process, can you reapply.

Thanks
@Param2020
Congratulations buddy

Hi all, I'm also planning to submit application for TRV in next few days. Are there any useful links that I should refer to, before submitting the application.

Anyone travel into Canada on or after Feb 22? Do they still force you to quarantine at a hotel even if you have a PHAC exemption?

Subject: Public Health Agency of Canada Application for Exemption from COVID-19 Canadian Travel Restrictions and Limited Release from Mandatory Federal Quarantine for Compassionate Reasons

You have been conditionally approved for exemption from the COVID-19 travel restrictions and limited release from the mandatory 14-day quarantine requirements for compassionate reasons as per the Conditions for Limited Release specified below, to: provide care for a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, temporary resident, protected person or a person registered as an Indian under the Indian Act who is residing in Canada who has a medical reason as to why they require support.

Services Agency officers and/or a Quarantine Officer upon entry to Canada.
Good day,
Your application for exemption from the COVID-19 travel restrictions for compassionate reasons under either subsection 5.2 of the Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Canada Order (Prohibition of Entry into Canada from the United States), or subsection 3.1 of the Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Canada Order (Prohibition of Entry into Canada from any Country Other than the United States) and/or subsection 7.1(1) of
3

Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Canada Order (Mandatory Isolation), No. 6 (as superseded or amended) has been assessed.
This exemption and limited release are only applicable to federal entry and quarantine requirements. Provinces, territories, municipalities, public facilities and private venues may have additional restrictions on your ability to enter and visit certain locations during the 14- day period following your entry to Canada. You are encouraged to consult with the applicable province/territory AND/OR private/public facility for any additional requirements or restrictions regarding entry or mandatory quarantine, as any stricter measures will apply.
For more information on travel restrictions in the province or territory you are visiting, see:
https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus- infection/symptoms/provincial-territorial-resources-covid-19.html.
This letter is not a travel document and does not, on its own, authorize you to travel to Canada without a valid passport, visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA) that you may require to travel to Canada. To board your flight and/or to enter Canada, you must continue to meet all the usual eligibility and admissibility requirements in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). The final decision on admission to Canada is made by Border Services Officers at Canadian ports of entry. Symptomatic foreign nationals will not be permitted to enter Canada.
The approval for exemption from the COVID-19 travel restrictions is valid for a single entry into Canada and solely for the purpose of this travel as specified in your application. The approval for limited release from the mandatory quarantine requirements is valid for the location(s) and purpose specified in your application.
If you plan to quarantine with someone who is considered a vulnerable person (over 65 years of age, have underlying medical conditions, or are immunocompromised), the Public Health Agency of Canada officer at the border may seek consent from that person. You will have to provide the name, date of birth, address and phone number of that vulnerable person.
Further, you must abide by the following Conditions for Limited Release:
 You must not have COVID-19, have signs or symptoms of COVID-19, have reasonable grounds to suspect that you have COVID-19 nor have been in contact with someone who has signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19 in the 14 days preceding your limited release.
 You must self-monitor for symptoms, and if you develop symptoms of COVID-19 at any point you must immediately isolate in your place of quarantine and contact the Public Health Agency of Canada through the ArriveCan app or at 1-833-641-0343 and your local public health authority. An up to date list of symptoms can be found at:
4

https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-
infection/symptoms.html#s.
 You must remain in your place of quarantine prior to and immediately following your approved visit(s) to the facility/institution, if applicable. You must not have any guests in your place of quarantine at any time during the 14-day period.
 You must only visit the specified facility/institution during the period indicated in your application for limited release and use private transportation when possible for this purpose.
 You must wear a non-medical mask or face covering upon entry to Canada. During the 14-day period that begins on the day of arrival to Canada, you must wear a non-medical mask or face covering at any time that you are making use of an approved limited release from quarantine and will maintain physical distancing (2-metre distance), unless the reason for the exemption means that physical distancing is not possible.
 You must comply with any requirements or prohibitions set by provincial, territorial and local public health authorities for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 for the duration of your stay in Canada.
If you do not comply with these conditions, this limited release from quarantine will no longer be applicable, and you will be immediately subject to the full quarantine requirement.
You will be called from 1-888-336-7735 or GOV-GOUV CANADA to verify your compliance with your 14 day quarantine, with the exception of any limited release from these obligations as outlined in this letter. Failure to comply with the Quarantine Act could result in enforcement measures, including but not limited to being issued a ticket under the Contraventions Act or prosecuted for an offence of the Quarantine Act.
