Visitor Visa for Wife living in US

Dear Members,

I am a new PR landed in Apr 2016. My wife is in US on J1 Visa. I was planning to meet her. I have not received my PR Card yet and hence am waiting to apply for US Visa. In the meantime, I want to apply for her Visitor visa to Canada. For the documents, I am confused abut the following two:
1. Invitation Letter - Do I need to provide an Invitation Letter?
2. Purpose of travel - other - Does she needs to book return tickets before applying for Visa? If not, what can be produced for this purpose?

You do not need to, but it is preferred.

Air tickets are not a purpose of travel.

Evidence of what she will be doing... maybe some tickets? some itinerary? varies on a case to case basis.

Thanks for your response. She will be visiting me here in Canada. It is just a personal visit. What can we show here as documentation?

Booking to events, bookings to places you will visit.... etc.

Depends on what you are doing.

1. provide a letter stating what your status is what her relation is with you, why your are inviting her, how you are planning to support stay with you, how would you make sure that she returns to her country once visa is over and how she wouldn't be a burden on Canadian economy etc...

2. just write up a letter on your plan to visit places and attend any events etc... that should suffice.
