Visitor Visa for spouse

Hi Friends;

I wanted to apply for temporary visitor Visa for spouse , but when i am checking eligibility on CIC website ,it is asking me to go through family sponsorship and get an approval for sponsorship for my wife.
Am i doing something wrong on the website.
I dont think we need family sponsorship to be approved for a visitor visa for spouse.

Please educate me on this.

Yes, you are using the tool wrongly.

Most likely you are saying you want to stay more than 6 months or that you want to work.

Review your answers so that they are accurate.

I am choosing less than 6 months for visit in questionnaire.
When i run the same questionnaire and apply for my parent , it allows me to apply as a visitor visa , just when i choose it for spouse it says that i have to go for family sponsorship.

Please help
