Visitor visa for spouse from US (I have a Canadian work permit)

I have a Canadian WP and my wife is applying for a visitor visa to visit me (she works in the US on an H1B). The processing time shown on the website for US is >40 days, which is crazy. It shows only 12 days for India.

Can someone give a realistic timeline on this? Does anyone have recent experiences visiting his/her spouse in Canada with a visitor visa?

Only a guess but suspect the long processing time is in part due to the fact that people applying from the US are permenant residents of countries other than the US so there are potentially additional process challenges versus the limited resources assigned to process applications in the US. The latter given US citizens and Green card holders do not need visas to come to Canada so resources are allocated on the basis that anyone else should really have applied from home country, anything else becomes exception processing. Just a personal speculation nothing else.
