Visitor Visa for Parents – Background Check Complete, Final Decision Pending After Govt Service Docs – Anyone Similar?

Hi, I read through this thread and wanted to ask if anyone has any recent updates.

A parent’s visitor visa application from India was submitted on January 28, 2026, with biometrics completed on February 25, 2026. After an additional document request related to prior police/government service, we were later told that eligibility had passed, but the file is still in security/background screening with an external partner, and no further documents are currently required from our side.

If anyone has had a recent update or knows how long this stage usually takes, it would be much appreciated.

There is no exact timeline but years is not uncommon and many had to file a writ of mandamus to force the government to get a decision after waiting a few years.

Hi, yeah I am also in the same situation and I submitted the Police Table in May 2026 and since then I also didnt get any update except that the application is in process

Where did they tell you this "we were later told that eligibility had passed, but the file is still in security/background screening with an external partner, and no further documents are currently required from our side"

I have checked many places and I see there is a really long processing time when parents are ex military or police, 2-3 years of wait times which is incredibly frustrating.

Some guy got their visa approved in 40 days. So it all depends.
