Visitor visa extension delay at - Vegreville AB

We applied for our visitor visa extension for my parents on July 23, 2012 still didn't hear anything as their original 6 months visa expires in 2 weeks really worried about this situation. Only processaing time in CIC website shows that they are working on application received on July 13th for the last 4 weeks (paper application), anybody know any reason for this delay? becuase the online application shows working on application recieved on July 30th, why are they delaying the paper application? any body in the same situation as me?. Really worried about this. Thanks in advance for your replys.

hi im in the same situation as you i sent in my paper application 11 days ago to extend my stay as my 6mths is up in october i know we will be classed as implied status untill they decied on our applications i also checked the same site so i guess we just have to wait which just adds more worry to us
 
They dint ask for the passport in the document checklist. I am guessing they will just send a letter confirming the visa extension. Any idea how the passport will get stamped?

Can someboday tell me if my parents has to go back home before getting their extension is it ok to leave? because their visa expired now, will there be any problem at the airport/immigration ? really worried could someone help me??? :(
 
I am in the same situation. I applied for one in March 2012, and I got it in less than 2 weeks. I went online yeaterday to find out why it is taking so long this time, and saw the notice that said they are working on July applications. At this rate, I hope to get my PR before I hear about extension decision. And if so, they can give me my $150 back! >:(
 
hi jayroy i sent a copy of my passport in with my application and when you are granted your extended stay they send you a document with your details on plus the date you are extended to and now the dates for paper applications has changed again so now we wait even longer to hear from them :(
 
hi dil81 your parents are classed as implied status until they hear about there application to extend so they can stay here until then i hope this helps you :)

Thanks for the info, due to some work related thing my parents has to go now, will there be any problem at the airport as their visa is expired already?, we have the proof of payement for the extension application(official recipt from Cic - online printout) other than that nothing to show that we have applied for extension.
 
hi dil81 i dont think there will be a problem at the airport u have enough proof that an application was sent from what i have read they realy dont bother much when you are leaveing the country i hope i have helped you in some way :)
