Visitor visa exemptions - can i work with this

Hi

I have been offered a construction job in canada. I was told I can apply for visa exception for this and work when i get there. I am from ireland

Is it ok to work with this? No clear info online so would appreciate this being cleared up

1. No. You need an approved Labour Market Opinion from the employer, that s/he gets from HRSDC after advertising the position. Then you can apply for a work permit at the Port of Entry.
