visitor visa approved for mother from zambia...question about passport and visa

We just got word today that my mother in laws visa was approved. We need to send her passport to the visa in South Africa to get the visa affixed. Do they contact us when we can send the courier back to pick up the visa. I want to book plane tickets for next week but wondering how long it will take to get passport back.

how did you know the visa was approved? did you received the CIC email passport request? once the embassy received the passport for stamping, they dont notify applicants that it has been dispatched. You will only be able to track your passport movement either through the prepaid returned airway bill or VAC tracking services...

Please note that you need to attach with the passport the request for passport letter emailed by CIC.

Firstly did you apply online, courier or a VAC.

If its online you need to now send the passport together with a prepaid envelop to the visa office in South Africa.

If you applied by Courier than ask the same courier to contact the embassy for pick up and request for a waybill number from them.

If you applied via VAC they will get your passport to you as agreed so either you pick it up from them or they send to you.
