I need to submit a visitor extension application for my baby (14 months old) while his PR sponsorship application is in progress. He is in Canada with me and my husband (PRs).
I am not sure whether I should be applying for an extension of less than 6 months, or more than 6 months. I am reading that the more than 6 months extension will require him to undergo medical examination, but the checklist is not mentioning medicals. So I am confused.

If anyone has been through this, in your experience, is it better to apply for less than 6 months extension, and then do it again after 6 months (is that even possible)?

Just apply for the longer stay. If it doesn't ask for a medical, then don't do one.

Note that he needs the medical for the PR app anyways.

That does make more sense, doesn’t it. I guess I just needed validation from someone, hehe. Thanks!
