Hello all...

Not sure if this is the proper board to post this on, but here is the question:

I sponsored my wife from Ukraine, who now a PR, has all her documents now (being OHIP and PR card).

Basically, we want to visit the US, I am a Canadian Citizen, have my passport, so it's no issue for me, but her, being from a non-visa exempt country needs to get a visa.
How does a PR go about obtaining a visitor visa to the US?

Thank you for any advice!

Canadian PR does not change anything for US. if she needs visa to visit, she needs it, no matter if Canadians agreed her to live in Canada, US is different country ;)

Hi, thanks for the response!
I am aware of that - please see the last line "How does a PR go about obtaining a visitor visa to the US?" ;D

It is documented here:

You probably would have go through the US state department as generally these requests are processed by the country you want to visit. I'd google it or at the very least try:

They are all right in their responses. You have to go through visitor visa process.

My wife landed as a PR last year November 25, 2014. She applied for US visitor visa in January and she was given 10 years Multiple entry visa. I worked in the US. She crossed over US /Canada Boarder last Monday. She will be back to Canada this Friday.

There should be no problem at all.

If you live in or close to a city that has a us embassy, i'm sure you can apply for one there too.

Thank you for that!
The Visa-Wizard looks really helpful!

Thanks again!
