Visit Visa Application (Using the new IRCC Portal)

Processing time in india is 46 days now. This is great news.

It is now officially 30 business days since IRCC asked to resubmit my sister’s application on the new portal. First application was sent on July 14th, 2021. Sent webform a couple days later to request priority processing and travel authorization letter (family reunification with a Permant Resident).

They issued and sent the authorization letter through email, but forgot to issue the PPR. We replied and said it was supposed to come with PPR, they replied and said the letter was issued in error and to disregard it but that her application was now going to priority processing and to expect a reply soon.

This was in August and nothing happened ever since. We submitted another travel exemption webform and we got a reply on October 12th to resubmit on the new portal and that to expect a correspondence within 14-30 business days. We resubmitted same day, and today makes it 30 business days with no response. She applied from Nigeria and the Visa Office is Nairobi, Kenya.

IRCC need to be held accountable for their words and actions. Why say one thing if you know you won’t be able to commit to it? That department is a whole mess, it needs a revamp.

IRCC will keep acting arbitrarily until something is done and they end up with many lawsuits in their hands for causing emotional/mental distress and damage on applicants; from temporary resident applicants to permanent resident applicants and citizenship applicants.

did you mention visiting for tourism? What was the duration for which you asked for a visa - if you do not mind sharing? Asking since some people are asking for a few weeks and getting refused while some people are asking for a visa for 5 months and still getting it. I am not sure how iRCC is perceiving this

magic word is reunite with family member, did not mention anything non essential right now because of covid

well you are lucky is all I can say. I personally know more than 25 people who used that Magic word and got refused despite just wanting to unite with family after being away for months together. Nobody can fathom the weird ways of IRCC

a. what all documents parents need to take to VFS office for giving biometrics?
b. also does office takes passport at biometrics time or we need to submit passport after PP letter
c. what is package transmission fee? i have already paid all fees online. Do i need to pay anything at vfs mumbai?

Answer
a. For biometrics just carry copy of VFS biometric appointment letter, biometric instruction letter , and original passport.
b. They will just verify the original passport and return to you after biometrics. You should submit passport only after you receive PPR not during biometrics
c. If you have paid everything online during application submission including application fees and biometrics , you don't really have to pay anything else. But some VFS locations in India has some premium services for the applicants if you wish to avail you can pay during that time else you can ignore. I have not availed that for my parents. They ask this during biometrics and the decision is solely your choice.
