Hey guys,

I need some serious help, My husband who is a Canadian PR, wants to apply for my immigration but we need few questions to be answered before making any decision.

our questions are:

1: Will i be able to travel Canada on a valid visit visa while my application for PR is under process?

2: how long can i stay in Canada on a tourist visa entry? (like for USA each entery gives a valid stay of 6 months and then you have to exit even if the visa is multiple entry)

3: If we apply outland then will i need to exist Canada? and

4: if so can i travel to USA and then re enter?

Thanks in advance for the replies. any help will be appreciated. :)

Reply: First off, You can travel if you have a valid visit visa. The problem arises that they usually, not all the time, don't give you visa while ur PR app. underway unless you have strong reasons (sickness, newborn, humanitarian grounds...etc)... The odds are they might not give you visa..but it depends on case to case...

Reply: In most cases, tourist visas of CANADA are valid for 6 months..

3: If we apply outland then will i need to exist Canada? and

Reply: not really. you have to apply outland, coz the person is just a visitor...dont make the mistake of INLAND application..
You have to leave canada before the expiration of visa , nothing to do if you are filing your Outland application..

4: if so can i travel to USA and then re enter?

Reply: What? i mean this question is not applicable..see Reply 3

Thankyou for your reply.

My actual concern is my entry in Canada. i already have a multiple entry visa and soon i will apply for PR application vis Singapore as i am Singapore's Permanent Resident, so while my application processes i will be able to enter Canada? the CIC website says we have to satisfy the immigration officer regarding our return to the home land.....so wont they have issues like "you have applied for a PR and now entering on a tourist visa"??... not sure if i am able to convey my question clearly :S

Yes. IO should be satisfied that your visit is temporary and you will return to your home country within the authorized period of stay. Family ties in home country, Proof of continued employment, Property, Savings in Bank, Return ticket are few things which will be sufficient to satisfy IO.

Lot of applicants misunderstand INLAND and OUTLAND.

An application can be filed as INLAND when both Sponsor and Sponsored person are in Canada. It is recommended that sponsored person stays in Canada during the whole process till finalization. If sponsored person leaves Canada and is not allowed to return then application will be denied.

If an application is filed as OUTLAND then the Sponsored person can be a resident in Canada or in his/her home country or any other country. OUTLAND applications are processed by a Visa Office (responsible for: the place where the sponsored person is residing legally or his/her country of citizenship) outside Canada.

satisfy the officer..
he may ask the following

Do u work in singapore..what do you work? convince him that you will return ..you cant waste ur time here...
make sure you have RETURN ticket, CONFIRMED...also a letter from employer stating that ur visiting and resuming activities on such date,,
after that u will b granted VISA,.,

be honest with them..thats the key..hope it helps...
