Hi,

I have applied for part time course for 6 months in Winnipeg. Today my visa is rejected.

Can anyone suggest me what to do next?

My visitor visa got rejected today. The reasons are -

1. Travel History
2. Family ties in Canada and in country of residence
3. Length of proposed stay in Canada
4. Purpose of visit
5. Current employment situation
6. Employment prospects in country of residence
7. Personal assets and financial status

Where are you from?

Here is how you can address each reason, if you want to reapply!

1. Do you have any travel history at all? If not, consider going on a small vacation somewhere
2. Do you have family in Canada? If yes, this can work against you as it may look like you are going to live with them and not return to your home country. Do you have a lot of family in your home country? If not, there is also a red flag because nothing is pulling you back home. If you do have family, maybe get them to write a letter that they know you will be back after your visit.
3. Asking for 6 months is a lot. Can you reduce that in some way?
4. What did you list as your reason to visit Canada?
5. Do you have a job in your home country? If not, that's an issue. A big one. If you have a job, your employer needs to write a letter saying that he or she approves your time off and that you will have a job upon your return to your home country. A six month absence is long, did your employer approve that?
6. I'm not sure what to say about this one.. maybe if you are not employed at the moment, show a job offer for the future for when you get back?
7. How much money do you have available for this trip? You need to show that you will be able to support yourself for your entire time in Canada. Unless you have family in Canada that are willing to help you. If that is the case they need to write a letter stating so. And show their financial situation..

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks CaroM8 for taking time to write back. I'm from India.

For point number :

2. I don't have any family members in Canada. I will try to get a letter written from my family members who is residing here in Bangalore.

4. Reason to visit Canada is to study there for a period of 6 months. I have also given them the college course offer letter for reference.

7. I have showed 17900 cad to support myself for my entire trip.

What course were you planning on taking in Canada? What is your past education and work experience?

I'll be honest - it really doesn't make much sense to come all the way to Canada for a part time six month course on networking. I would wonder about your true motives for coming to Canada if I was CIC. It would make much more sense if you were coming for a full time 1-2 year diploma.

1. Do you have trips for that length that shows travelling abroad for 6 months is something common for you?
2. Are you single? Are you 18+? What stops you from staying in Canada after finishing your studies?
3. 6 months is the maximum, requesting the maximum is an abuse of the law... CIC doesn't like people abusing the law.
4. Any Bachelor's degree takes at least 3 years... how is it that you are coming only for 6 months? Why Canada? Winnipeg is not a lead in networking nor in IT, why not the USA?
5. You are doing what right now? Working? Studying? Provide evidence.
6. So you are coming from a country where there are no jobs? Any proof to believe you won't be using your TRV and studies as a bridge for a Work Permit?
7. 18K is fine, what else? Cash can move freely so what stops you from taking it with you to Canada to start a new life?

Be sure to answer all those questions before applying again. Your answers should be convincing, obvious and easy to prove.

No way. They will not give you visa for 6 month course and you also select part time :-X :-X :-X.
It's imposible otherwise all students do that and enter in Canada bcz it's cost less.
Try other way like minimum 1 year course(I would suggest 2 years course then you will get 3 years work permit and you have enough time for to get PR) with full time.
Good luck.
