My Visa got granted on the 21st of December 2017 and I need to be in use the visa by the 21st of December this year, I am just seeing is there anyway of delaying entry just for 1 month

What kind of visa is it? Generally speaking it's not possible to get extensions.

Not possible to extend.

What you will have to do is arrive in Canada on or before December 21st. You can then leave Canada immediately and return once you are ready to start living and working here.

If you don't arrive by Dec 21st, the visa will no longer be valid. Keep in mind that many IEC programs only allow one participation. If you don't use the visa, this still counts as a participation.

To add that if you do decide to do a short landing to activate your IEC you must still meet the conditions. Full insurance for the IEC term for your country, 2 years and proof of access to 2500 CDN. If you do not have full travel insurance for the term allowed for your country you will only get a permit that matches your insurance term. Also you need to ensure your travel insurance provider allows for home trips so that you do not find it is voided should you do a quick activation trip.
