Visa for my soon-to-be spouse

I'm starting my Phd in Toronto in September. My partner is accompanying me, and we are getting married in August. Is it possible to submit an application for his spousal visa in the mean time, and then just submit our marriage certificate once the ceremony has taken place, two months from now? Or do we need to wait with the entire application until we have the marriage certificate?

You can't submit his application until you are actually married.

what i can advice u is that if u r going for trv then go for single entry and that too with marriage photos,invitation card,and marriage certificate. and rest all documents..

I would wait till you get the marriage certificate to apply as a married couple.
