Visa for internship

I had a query regarding the type of visa/permit required for an internship with a Canadian company.
I am on a visitor status at present,but I wanted to apply for an internship related with my previous education in order to learn the practical side of same...
Please guide about the requirement

You would need to obtain a closed work permit which is unfortunately extremely difficult to do for an internship. I would recommend you look for internships outside of Canada since you're unlikely to be successful in getting an approved work permit.

To get an approved work permit, you first need a job offer. Next your employer must obtain an approved LMIA which is typically a 4-6 month process that requires them to advertise the job for at least a month first to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. The employer also has to pay a $1K fee with no guarantee of approval. Generally speaking, it's very difficult to find an employer and very difficult to get an approved LMIA for internships.
