Hi friends! I need your help and advise.
My situation:
1. applied for study permit regular online on 24 May;
2. CIC requested to provide additional documents on 12 July;
3. provided additional documents on 14 July;
4. CIC started processing my additional documents on 23 July.
No updates and no information ever since. It was 10 weeks since application. Normally, it takes 6 weeks for my country. I booked my flights on 17 August and school starts on 1 September. I am a bit stressed now.
I contacted school and deferral options are under question, there is a chance that school may not provide it. What should I do next in this kind of awkward situation. Should I wait for few weeks and then withdraw my application in case I do not get deferral from school or look for other schools? I am also filing for case specific inquiry at least to get answer for how long I should wait. I would appreciate your advices or share your personal experience.

Thanks for your reply. 13 weeks that's crazy! What are your further plans? Are you going to ask for deferral from your school?

No clue, man.. Deferral can be done. But it will almost be a waste of 1 year. Feeling quite helpless. Wastage of a year thanks to the inefficiency of someone else

I think you should not give up as you came this far. Since, US is rejecting most of the student visas for the last 2 years I think this year Canada should have received record number of international student applications. You never know what could happen next year.

For those readers whom my situation could be interesting. I still have not received my study permit. No response from IRCC since July 23. I had to defer my studies from September 2018 to January 2019. I had to pay additional fees and cancel my flights. In total I already lost around USD 750. I submitted new Admission Letter. It has been almost 17 weeks now. I filed two case specific inquiry with my situation, but no result. I have no clue how long I will have to wait. Please, share your thoughts, knowledge and recommendations. In case I am doing something wrong. Waiting hurts indeed! :(

I am applying for postgraduate program but I have 6-7 years gap. I am applying from Turkey. Unfortunately, we do not have SDS option. I wish they make it widely available for rest of the countries.
