Hi guys! I just got some not so nice news today that my application got rejected by the Canadian visa office on grounds that they don't believe that I would leave based on my travel history. Is there an agent I can hire that can maybe change this through reapplication? How can I reapply and state the fact that I AM LEAVING after I'm done. Thanks.

Where r u from?

Have you traveled to any other country before?

Have you been refused to any other country apart from Canada before?

Hi from the middle east. I've not lived there for many years though. I have travelled but just back home and to one or two other countries for vacation.

For honest feedback you need to provide details honestly.

Travel History means many things to a visa officer.

1. You have never travelled outside of your country. Been refused visas by other countries as well.

2. Overstayed your visa limit.

3. Deportation

However, if you have travelled to many countries either for a vacation or for any other purpose and came back on time. It would be considered a good travel history and would go in your favor. Since you were refused based on your travel history. It could not be positive. You have to decide it by yourself about what is wrong with it.

Good Luck

Apologies for the vagueness as I myself am confused about it too. I have only left my country of residence for a bit but that is usually for home. Could that be the case? I've emailed them but their replies seem vague too. Only those two reasons I mentioned were checked off but they keep alluding to family capability to pay. I've showed ability to pay for at least a year. Could that be the issue? Should I show for all four years? Would pre-paying one term help? Thanks.

Where are you originally from? what country did you file your case in? How many countries have you visited so far in your life time?

1. You only need to show funds for one year's expenses. Normally that range varies from school to school. However, it falls somewhere between this range of $30,000-$32000. Showing extra money out of this range is a plus point. Let's say, showing $40,000 would be great.

2. Not every school has this requirement of accepting first semester fee in advance in Canada. So fulfilling this requirement won't alone help your case.

You need to take care of your travel history reason, imho. See, if you can show more money in your bank account.

That's all what I can think of as a layperson.

apply for CAIPS then u will know the exact reason of refusal whether they refused u on travel history or something else. Even if it is travel history then visa officer must have mentioned the exact problem with ur travel history.

Only checked off are the main refusal reasons. In your case, there is no such an issue with your financial position.

Why didn't you file your case in Iran? Is there a Canadian consulate/embassy there?

CAIPS notes are legitimate. Here on the forum one of the applicants was refused based on having a lot of backlogs in his previous studies. That;s what was mentioned in his CAIP notes as well. So he had asked us how to overcome that impression of having a limited academic ability to persue further studies in Canada. So, the company is not a scam.

thanks for the insight on that. I guess the next question comes as to how to overcome that idea of a backlog in studies? I'm doing well these few years and in some ways redeeming my earlier years of not focusing on school. I'd want to transfer there.

As for not applying back home, I've been residing here for many years.

It is a general consensus to apply for a study permit in your home country rather than abroad since it implies that you are willing to come back to your home country. Since you have been residing in another country, not willing to abandon it, you will do the same during your stay in Canada.

For a better understanding of your case you had better ask for CAIP notes. It probably takes 4-5 weeks.

PS: Since the embassy has been shut down back home , which nearest embassy is handling cases from Iranian students currently living in Iran?
