Hello guys,

I need your advice.

Does it matter if I do my medical in Vietnam or in Australia? It costs $500 in Australia and $200 in Vietnam.

And I will be submitting the application while I am in Vietnam, as I need to go back to get some of the documennts to complete my application. I will be applying with my Australian passport though.

My bank is in Australia and I don't plan to move any money to Vietnam at the moment.

Will there be any problem with doing Medical Examination in Vietnam?

Also, I will be staying in Vietnam for few months, do I need to put my Vietnamese address as my current address or Australian address still ok? Does it matter at all?

No problem with medical exam in Viet Nam.
However, be aware of the PCC issue. You have to decide whether you consider Viet Nam or Australia as your current country of residence. The PCC of the other country should be issued after you leave the country.

For example, if you decide that Australia is your country of residence (which makes more sense to me, because your passport and bank accounts are in Australia), your Viet Nam PCC should be issued after you departed Viet Nam. Also, you can not visit Viet Nam until your application was submitted (ideally, only after your application was approved). Otherwise it will invalidate your Viet Nam PCC.

Regarding the Police check, I think there is a common misunderstanding. I think if those countries you don't live any more, police checks obtained after your departure will be accepted. Otherwise police checks issued within 6 months are considered valid regardless of your country of residence.

I think there's a lot of threads discussing this topic and that is my understanding.
