Lol Kopje, let's hope your guess is true...;)

Hey there,

I'm a Canadian living in Holland with my Dutch husband so our VO is Vienna as well. Yesterday we recieved our SA (yay!!) but in the email it doesn't state that they sent 2nd stage approval to Vienna, it lists and address and email in Ottawa. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm really confused as I thought only US applicants or inland applicants were processed in Ottawa.

I'm worried and also afraid to get my hopes up. Should I just email them for clarity? As we are just new on the list I don't want to risk annoying them ;-)

This is very strange, although there have been a few cases where Mississauga sent the application to the wrong VO. I read your other post, where you mentioned you applied once in 2012 as inland, but cancelled it before SA. Maybe that created some confusion.

I would contact them with a case specific inquiry, to find out why your file was sent to Ottawa, and not Vienna.

Best thing is to post your question in the open forum, so the seniors members can see it and give you advice.

They did request docs from you after 12 months... so technically they looked at the file at 12 months it just took a while afterwards.. not sure what they requested but you did receive something after 12 months.. which meets avrg. processing times :)

Honestly im so mad that we havent heard from Vienna Yet >:( 13 months really!! i havent emailed vienna because they are gonna say same thing. I saw on another forum South Afirca processing times is 21 months and people have been getting PR's 10-11 months. a part of me want to write to the Minister of Immgration. At least they could give some cummication as to wants to whats going on.
ANd the Phillipines is 14 months PR's issued from 9-11 months

Well, if we take like that then yes, but the processing time is based on completed cases. :) Anyway, it's done, later is better than never. :) You need to stay patient when it's about the immigration. :)

well they count only when you application is sent to vienna so prob it is atually 12 months for you.. still brutal and not an excuse.. did you GSCM notes say anything at all? I am pretty hopeless at this point.. kind of feel like since i stuck it out this long i may as well surrender and just expect nothing untill 14 months

Same thing here. My wife just bought tickets to visit her family in August because she misses her family a lot. Normally we did not want to fly back to Canada before we move but since we don't know when this is going to happen she decided to go for two weeks in August. When we applied last September we were thinking of being already in Canada this time in 2014. However there is nothing we can do than be positiv and stay patient.

well maybe you will get your PR while she is there and she wont have to come back at all because you will arrive! :)

I would love to get my PR during the time she is gone. I would be able to surprise her once she is back. She definitely has to come back because we both work here and have to give our Employers at least a month notice. And we definitely will not quit our jobs before my PR is granted. Because if for whatever reason it is not granted we will stay in Germany.

it's me again....

I need some advice.
So Mississauga received our application Oct 10 and Vienna Nov 5, 2013. The file is not in process yet. My husband was in Canada for a year on a work permit (that's how we met) and he tried to get another work permit but didn't work out so he left Canada. Then we got married in Croatian in Sept 2013 and the rest you know how it works, paperwork started etc.

Anyhow, my question is....
If he would come back for a visit lets say 1-2 months, would that cause any troubles with Vienna? And do you know if they would refuse entry to the country once he gets here due to whatever reason. Since he has a Croatian passport he doesn't need a visitors visa.
Or should we just be patient and wait?

Thanks for your input, it's nice to have support from people that are going through this as well. :)
