Makes me wonder if they even read all letters you have provided with your applications. If the officer read the letter from your landlord he would have not asked for a joint rental agreement?

I guess all you can do is send in another letter explaining the situation and as many statements of witnesses as you can.

Would a Statutory Declaration of Common-Law make a difference?

He paid the rent by cheque, I paid the groceries. That's how we split our bills. I paid cash most of the times. No proof for that. Our old bank accounts are closed and the information gone

Statutory Declaration of Common-Law - of course, why not? Give them all they need.

I don't know what to tell you. We have always done everything they asked for. Tomorrow will be 3 months since my husband had an interview, and in 7 days will be 3 months since he redid the medicals and sent the documentation requested, and still nothing. Why???

What a joke. Just contacted Shaw TV by chat message. They are not able to put me on the account as long as we don't have the same last name!! How should I proof joint utility bills for common-law if I have to be married to do so?

If you can, do up a new letter with a current date...and send everything again, statements from banks for last month showing your address. They are maybe asking for all this again to make sure you guys are still together, that you didn't move out....so I think it should all have the most current date.
They cannot ask for proof of communication from you so this might be the proof they need.

If you can, do up a new letter with a current date...and send everything again, statements from banks for last month showing your address. They are maybe asking for all this again to make sure you guys are still together, that you didn't move out....so I think it should all have the most current date.

They are especially asking for proof starting in April 2012 when we still lived in the basement suite.

Starting May 2013, everything is easier because it's our own place with lots of documents. And that's the time when our life insurance started, the condo insurance, the car insurance... Everything in both names.

Just before that we only have the letter from the landlord confirming that I lived there with rental agreement in my boyfriend's name + mail I received + same address on driver's licence + joint health insurance + 3 holidays we went together + tons of pictures + 4 statutory declarations from friends and family...

OMG little apple I think my blood pressure rose while reading about their requests! Just explain everything in a letter and provide as much as additional proof as you can, when they go through your whole app again it will be enough for sure! It's like they want us to print screen every moment of our relationships, what about being in love, spontaneous and not having some hidden intentions?!

I'm waiting for my GCMS notes this week and going to start with my preparation for the interview this weekend, might have some questions for you. I was reading some of the questions for the interview and my dad was around. He said that after more than 30 years of marriage he would have to think for a few minutes before answering some of those ))

Thanks Newpal. I already printed/copied 100 pages of stuff. I wanted to avoid a flood of paper but everything I sent them before obviously wasn't enough. They want more paper, so they'll get it. I have to write a long explanation letter because most of the documents I can't send them because I don't have them...
