When ppl ask and it happens many times a day to me, isnur husband here, i just want to strangle them...of course im not going to keep him locked up in the house so that noone would know if hes here, i just dont get ppl y they have to ask that every single day!!!! It just screws up the rest of my day, its like they ask me to remind me that hes not here ...i dont get it :'(


I remember growing up and especially being serbian the main question is when are you going to get married....got annoying so after awhile i would just say saturday hahaha they give me this look like very funny smart ass. Now when im married its whats going on why isnt your wife here, whats taking so long, you should call them, you pay taxes so they should process you right away hahahaha and having been with my wife for 3 months the next question is whats new? Thinking we are expecting a baby. Asking if we will make a wedding when she arrives....its endless. After awhile you tune it out and give people an automated answer like a generic email. Some told me to go to vienna hahaha and i ask them to do what? Complain and get escorted out of the embassy? There has to be a better way. If they at least gove you a timeline and say a decision will be made by this and this date....fine. This way is just torture.

yeah, I was also told to go to Vienna and bang on the door hahaha Or it gets even better when they start blaming my hubby for not having any connections/friends with immigration (he is army) Cause it's the same thing, right?

Oh, you misunderstood, by quickly I meant - within a year. You are at 9 month mark, we were there 14 months ago. They asked us for my stepson's fingerprints(who was in Canada) in October 2012 when they did his RCMP check and a new police certificate in November 2013.
I heard that the background checks for Canada/RCMP et al. take forever, and that is one of the reasons inland app processing times are always longer. So the fact that you are in Canada could add a few months to your app. Hope not.

I knew they would ask me for a RCMP fingerprint police certificate. That's why I included one right from the beginning. I hoped to save some time doing this. But it will expire in February. Same as my German police certificate...

I will have to disagree, as per entries from the GCMS notes that I received mid August 2013:
Criminality: not started
Medical: passed
Eligibility assessment: passed (this entry was made 01/18/2013)
status: passed
security: (this field was blank)

in the ecas it also says: We started processing your application on January 18, 2013

Replies to our inquiries in April and Nov 2013 were: Once the background checks are completed you will be informed about the further steps in due course.

Based on this, I would have to say that they start with the eligibility first. There is no point in doing background checks if they feel that the relationship is not genuine. I might be wrong, this was my conclusion after reviewing the GCMS notes.
However, since then they might have changed the way they process applications.

I wonder what they'll ask us after our husbands/wives r here ehheeh, but it is an ongoing thing espc. With family and the advice they give you are usually helpless.

There was more activity in Vienna in the past month then the entire last year. It looks like all January applicants are being processed right now, so I believe you will hear from Vienna by the end of next month. I understand your frustration, believe me ( after 16 months we are still waiting). I am afraid to be happy with their request because I don't want to be dissapointed if it doesn't get finalized soon. I know you can't plan anything and your life is on hold...It is very upseting that we as Canadian citizens are treated with such ignorance. Don't lose hope, your application will be processed very soon.

Thank you so much for taking the time to encourage me, although you have been waiting longer than us.
Truth is I won't rest till I see all of you guys clear from the waiting list.
As I wrote in a previous message now I know why Vienna is delaying so much but still this is no excuse for CIC! They should't had let Vienna fall back so much in the first place! They moved all applicants from Germany to little Vienna. And why they waited for so long to decide to place an ad for Processing Officers?
Just today I was informed that another friend whom I helped fill up her forms in August and sent to Mississauga in late August was informed couple days ago from Rome that her husband's COPR is ready to be sent!

I got my first grey at 21 and started thining in the back way before this hahahaha and this process hasnt helped my cause. Some say it depends how your app was put together, apparyently the take the ones that are better organized. For 2 weeks my room was a work shop like arts and crafts with scissors, glue stick, coloured paper clips, envelopes, table of contents on each envelope.... To make their life easier but they haven't made mine easier. To add to the comment, vienna wasn't on strike which makes it even worse. Problem is they are back-logged thanks to closing the embassies in the balkans and having everything go thru vienna. Since april 2012 they have been digging a bigger hole for themselves. It will take a few years before they will be able to process applications in a timely manner or maybe the "6 month" average will no longer happen and people will just have to accept it and wait 12-24 months.

On one of my emails to Vienna just over a month ago, after they failed repeatedly to give me any answer, I mentioned to them that they have to treat me as a client and that they must answer to my query.
Two days later I received a reply to my query!

Me and my husband have a child /already Canadian./ We go to Canadian consulate for his child Canadian passport. It was very funny, they ask us why we don`t live at the same address.Why? I was rejected a tourist visa and I live here/Bulgaria/ he lives in Canada.

It was really funny to ask why not living together.
I hope for all of us soon

I'm doing ok...back to reality and snow. I must admit it was nice going 3 months without the white stuff hahaha. How have you been?

I agree at this point any communications have to be polite but stern to get a response. I will be writing my mp a letter soon just not sure how to word it. My mp happens to be Harper so i dont know what to say...hey i voted for you once help me out hahaha. Even if i contact him i doubt they can do much. Does anyone have the power to fast track a process? I dont think so. As far as vienna goes unless they require additional documents or interview there is no need to contact them. Waste of time. Gmcs notes explained it all.

You try not to think about it but it becomes a part of your daily life. When is she coming? Whats taking so long? I tried to avoid the forum but then again its been helpful and a great group of people and support. I wish i could apply for that job in vienna hahahaha. I should have put a note and some money in with the application maybe that would have fast tracked us.

Their answer to me was regarding my query about them having our apps since they never send us an AOR. I send them an email about this issue 2 times but never got an answer. On the 3rd time it was when I used the term "Client" and what do you know, they answered me almost the next day and told me that our apps were received on April one month after SA from Mississauga.

My dear they don't care if your child did not see his/her dad. They live in a world away from human pain. Maybe this is how they are trained. Who knows.

These are indeed great news. Well, I have seen similar posts here and in other threads in the pas. It only means that you guys are going through the last stages. I seriously doubt that they will ever demand an interview as if they had wanted an interview they would ask you tho bring these items along with her.
Send them asap and wait for your DM.

Hi Denis,
in the past 2 weeks a few of us here had the same request. We also got a request for a new medical as it expired in Sept 2013.
I hope this is the final stage, If it takes much longer I will lose my sanity.

MP offices said that my file is in Q for review. And the VO VIenna asked her to call back in 3 months.
what does it mean File is IN Q for review????

She said that they means that they haven't open at yet for review, and that is just checked if something is missing and that they dont give a lot of information about it.

I can believe it....
