Hi Kopje and Mia23, welcome to the forum.

@ Mia23, don't rely on what ecas says, it is not updated properly from what I've heard.

I just sent my application in today (YAY) they told me it should get there in 4 days. I have a tracking number to see where it is, but I was wondering if you could tell me more about this thing that bugs me. When Mississauga receives the application, do they let you know they have it or they only contact you after they approve the sponsor?

I thought that once I send it in, I won't worry anymore, but I'm so paranoid today. Keep wondering if there is something I forgot, I'm scared that my package will get lost, etc. This is so stressful.

Hi Avadava,

Just like with ecas the 1st stage notice is also unreliable. From what I read many people were notified of a sponsporship approval, but that was not the case with me. When I sent everything, the first notification received was from Vienna to my husband that the application was received. So I was never notified about a sponsorship approval or anything else.

Don't worry...I am sure you did everything right. The first stage is now around 28 days, so your file will most likely get transfered to Vienna just after the holidays in January. Good luck :)

Hey everybody,
by "their website" I meant the cic website- section: check your application status. Is that ecas?

Also: is there some kind of guideline for the new and confused (like me) that explains stuff like ecas, gcms notes?
I don't think I need to know any details quite yet- I was just wondering if I am already in the "13 months waiting window" or if there's anything else that has to happen first.

@ Avadava: We didn't get any notification from Mississauga when they first received it. They just sent everything back a month later because of a missing signature- we sent everything back again and then we got an email about a month after that saying that my medical was missing (which Vienna had told me I couldn't do yet and they would contact me- big miscommunication somewhere in there).
So long story short, hopefully you won't hear from them at all and then after the 50 (?) days get an email saying that the sponsor has been approved.

@ Kopje: Hello waiting buddy! I don't expect them to touch it either. I just hope that the 13 months have already started for me/us. :/

Hi Mia23 and welcome to the forum,

by 'their website' do you mean ecas? Don't rely on that thing, try and order the GCMS notes, it will tell you what stage your application is at. My Ecas is still showing 'application received' but it obviously is 'in process' according to the notes.

Have a great day!
KKMoe

Your file is already in process? You applied in March? This gives me some hope because I applied a month later :P

It looks like we might have good news. I just checked our ecas and it says they have made a decision! They will contact Tamas shortly. Wow!

Hungary, hang in there! I too don't think you should put this on pause because the wait times might even get longer in the future. Just keep strong and stay positive and keep dreaming of being a whole family together again.

I hope the interviews go well in Vienna, I am curious to know what they will ask you. Yes, bring EVERYTHING!!

Sarah

No I apply since January but Vienna Received my file on 20 Feb

yes, my file is 'in progress'. they have initiated the security check in April and the criminality check in May. the status for RCMP screening is 'no reportable trace', the result for my other police certificates is 'no adverse info'. I'm wondering what else they are checking i.e. what other information they have been waiting for. I have passed my medical it expires in January though...
they haven't started my eligibility yet because of the above mentioned missing info.

Hi All,

My wife and I just got an Email from VO requesting my Passport :)

Good luck every one, trust me its working out faster for most of us...!!

Thanks for all your support in the forum :)

William and Afrodite

Congratulations :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Congratulations Cbn Cbn! That is amazing news.

Here is a question my wife and I are currently thinking about ...

We are wondering after how many months should we request GCMS notes for the first time to get more information about the progress of our application? My wife was approved as a sponsor early in October. Vienna should have received my part of the application just over a month ago although I have not received any confirmation about Vienna receiving my part of the application. Do they send out AOR too like CPC-M did for my wife's part of the application?

Currently I am thinking of ordering GCMS notes through my wife around end of January? That would be around three months after Vienna received my application?
