Team-

I have a question I hope someone can help us with...

My wife is coming to visit me in Canada for 3 months, while we are going through the spousal sponsorship through Vienna VO...file was transferred on Feb 14 (nice day:-) but nothing yet...still Application Received on ecas.

We did her meds way back in September 2013, and our assumption is they will expire, due to the process taking longer than expected.

My question is, if while she is here, Vienna requests a re-med, can my wife get it done in Canada and then send them to the office? Or does she have to do them in her home country of Holland?

What would that process entail?

Does anyone know??

Also- does anyone have ANY contact with Vienna in the last 5 months....I almost feel they are closed :-(

Thanks!!!

Willis

Hi, as I know because we asked this on the phone a few weeks ago, you can redo the medical in Canada or wherever you are if you find the panel doctor. ;)

Tom,

How far along is she now? Sending prayers your way! Even one can go a long way ^-^

Anyone coming to Croatia on vacation anytime soon???
I have room! :)

Angie

Hi Angie, how are you?

Lovely Croatia. September 2009 I was on a one week business trip to Zagreb and then Ostria. It was by car from Thessaloniki Greece. Took Aspa with me. We had a great time. Such a beautiful country! One thing that impressed me very much that almost everyone there spoke English.
She will be 29 weeks along on this coming Monday. So we still have another 2 months to go! Hope that we will go to full term.
Thanks for your kind words

Greetings

Tom

Hello

I'm fine.Last weekend I was to Pefkochori with my cousin's family and we enjoyed in the nice weather and warm water, but my cousin is always busy.Feel free to contact me when you plan to come in Skopje we'll drink coffee. I'm happy and prey for you guys.Everything will be good. The babies are so cute :P. I love kids very much.

Hi sponsor2012

We might had past you in Pefkohori as last Friday we were in Paliouri beach :)
We just take day excursions to Chalkidiki as we are almost next door. We leave in the Peraia area of Thessaloniki next to the airport and our home is by the beach. You are welcome to visit us here when ever you like. We have an extra room. The invitation is also ope for all our Vienna friends :D :D

Angie, I would LOVE to have a weekend in Croatia :D. :D but probably you would go crazy from my twins :D just kidding, they are adorable and very well mannered. 8)

Have you ever been to Hungary?

I was in Hungary for a few hours, many many years ago! (was headed to Budapest from Serbia but our car broke down around Keschkemet i think, i know i spelled that wrong, sorryyy) I'd love to visit Hungary and a few other places before heading home to Canada. Hope i get a chance to, all depends on our financial situation after the hubby comes to visit.
Twins are fun! I have no kids but i raised an entire block down in Brooklyn most of my life! (I'm from NYC, been there since i was 6).
Like i said, if you or anyone is around Croatia, let me know, i love when people visit!

There's an insane heatwave hitting Cro this weekend. I kinda miss snow... hehehe

(My hand is killing me, i'm working on all the pictures now, was told i need to write a description on the back of each one, aka date/place and people in pic... 350 pictures... wish me luck)

Angie

Hungary, i forgot to mention: i've also wondered about that last question you had, about the lack of visitation. Clearly, even a fool of a VO would know travel expenses are too high nowadays and not wonder much about why a spouse hasn't visited.
Haven't seen my husband since last September. He will finally have just under a month off this Sept/Oct. so all evidence of his travel and extra pictures will have to be sent in just before he leaves.

Has anyone else sent in this kind of extra evidence at a later time after filing? Is that ok to do? Personally, I'd also include a small letter to the VO as to why he visited so late (financial and work obligations etc). I'm sure all VO's are normal working class people who know that travel expenses can rack up, and getting time off nowadays is impossible for more than 2 weeks a year.

Thanks for invitation Tom. I love sea very much. As I told you with my cousin everything occurs fast. His daughter called me Friday morning at 7 a.m. and told me pack for Pefkochori, take a taxi to Veles (because I was in Probistip). I met them in Veles on a highway around 10 or 11 o'clock :D :D :D.

If you love Pefkohori then you must meet the 2nd leg of Chalkidiki "Sithonia" (the 1st is Kassandra) That leg is more beautiful than anywhere with lots of pine trees running all the way to the beach! Beautiful turquoise waters, extra fine sandy beaches! The 1st leg is always so crowded!

Hi everybody :)

Angie, you gave me a little bit of relief :-* thank you! EXACTLY this is how we think too. They MUST look at my Husband's financial situation, he has two weeks a year and he has to pay his mortage as well. My God, how don we spell this word?! Okay, so... He has two jobs right now to gather the money for our airfare ( we need 3)... But this way I am pretty sure I'll be interviewed. Which I don't mind at all EXCEPT that this fact stops me to visit him for 6 months (plus with an extension maybe we wouldn't even have to leave anymore)...

I never wished to be damn rich before, only since I know how expensive is to be in love overseas :-X

Oh and Angie, Kecskemét is the town. I live far away from that, on the other side of the country actually a lot closer to the border 100 km . Not far away from Pécs.
You lived in NYC that's nice. It must've been really busy though. For me, I would sooner move to a tiny place which is not soooo popular. Like Prince Rupert Island or something like that. We wouldn't have trouble with high temperature anymore I guess ;D this reminds me, the heatwave is hitting us too, we cant go anywhere...

FYI:

In case any of us were wondering. Vienna will not be affected by the strike on Monday. I just took this off of the PAFSO website.

"Effective Monday, in order to persuade the Government that binding arbitration remains the responsible way forward to resolve our dispute, PAFSO members will withdraw all services until further notice at Canada’s fifteen largest visa processing centres abroad: Abu Dhabi, Ankara, Beijing, Cairo, Delhi/Chandigarh, Hong Kong, London, Manila, Mexico City, Moscow, Paris, Riyadh, Sao Paulo, and Shanghai."

:) :-* good. But still feel sorry for the Other applicants :-X

Hello Katie25

Yes unfortunately these are not good news for our fellow applicants of these embassies. Ι feel so bad for them all. But I also have this odd feeling that because the nearby striking embassies are in total work absence the gov will probably dispatch workers from Vienna to assist those embassies affected so things will probably slow down ( not that they aren't already slow)
Maybe this ain't so! Maybe I am just playing the devil's advocate here!
Maybe and I wish I am totally wrong.
Anyway there is no point crying over this! We must stand up and take it with dignity! Better days are coming! This you can all be sure !

Tom

Hi all,

Just a small fyi, i read a longer quote about the strike, and it's been told that new people are being quickly trained to fill the positions of the absentees during the strike to make sure as may visas can be completed as possible. It's in a forum on here specifically regarding this strike.
But, like Tom said, let's hope that no workers from other offices are pulled out and shipped off.
(I highly doubt it, the airfare alone would cost the Gov.t tons to move employees around like that)
I really feel bad for all our fellow applicants too =(

Angie

Is it a rule that everyone switches to "In Progress" before the passport request, or is it possible to receive one while still in "Application Received" status?

Also which ecas to check, mine as a sponsor or the ecas of the person being sponsored?

Thanks
