Good day guys

Application submitted to Vienna VO in 2008.After 18 months(in 2010) I had security interview in Vienna (military background, ordinary soldier during military service in 1991).After that I was told that background check procedure has been initiated again.I am still waiting.
18+18=36 months waiting period for my case

Best regards

Here is my husband's experience at the airport yesterday...

At the airport, there were two lines for passport control: for citizens and temporary visitors. I was not sure where to go, so I asked a lady who was helping people decide and she told me there is separate entrance for new immigrants. Over there there was some kind of info desk where another lady explained to me about the procedures with health insurance, driving license and finding a job and she gave me brochures with phone numbers and addresses of institutions that could help me such as public transportation. Then she told me to wait in line with the other immigrants, students and foreign workers to go through the interview with the CBSA officer. He asked me about the address I will be staying at, the phone number and then he asked me a few questions about my previous visits to Canada, etc. He had my immigration file opened so he knew what kind of questions to ask. Then he checked on the form I filled on the plane (customs declaration) and told me I won’t have to go through the same procedure at customs. And that was all – if there were less people everything would be over in no time. And all of the officers were polite.

Complilcated military history and lack of information during initial application assessment caused such a long background check procedure. I had security interview mainly to answer questions concerning my military background.

My husband got a TVR last December. I remember he went for the interview in Belgrade and she said okay, you are approved but now we have to check your military records. And I think it took another 2 weeks. They had to send it to Canada. We were nervous because he already bought his ticket and wasn't sure if the checks would be okay. They don't do as extensive of a check as for a PRV.

Hi guys,

I'm going through the Vienna office, too. I mailed the VO a couple of days before reminding them that I'm in 8th month of pregnancy at the moment and that I can travel up to the 36th week of my pregnancy. I asked them kindly if they are close to finish my file to let me know that, so I can make the travel arrangement and go to Canada to give a birth there.
I received a response from them this morning. And they told me that an interview has been scheduled for me at December 06, and that I should bring my passport and some more documents to establish that we are in a relationship. However, I'm really grateful to them for taking time for my case and situation, but I'm sooooo confused and I don't know what to do...
I don't know if they are going to issue me the Visa after the Interview, and if so how much would it take for them!? I'd like to reserve my tickets, and organize some stuff as well, but I really don't know what to do... Do I have to mention that every hour is extremely important to me because of my pregnancy... :(
I hope everything's gonna be fine so I can travel as soon as possible.
