Is there any way of making a formal complaint about the lack of progress at the Vienna office? It seems entirely incompetent of them for us all to have gotten to a certain stage but no progress being made for months now. Personally I'm just waiting for my 'eligibility' to be confirmed by a security check (police checks have been received and approved). Surely this is just one officer reviewing a few documents and giving it a stamp, even with large numbers of applicants, this is far from months' worth of work...

I feel you, im in the same boat everything is perfect all the papers are done, medical passed, police and other documentation they requested is there and we have nothing to hide as neither of us have had any sort of contact with the justice system.
I do not know if there is a way but I have the same frustration.
some of the background checks take time though same with verification of authenticity. try to be positive though thats all we can really do as it is not in our hands.

Well I take a little bit of encouragement that you're in pretty much exactly the same situation as us... we sent our file back in February, it seems entirely unfeasible and bordering on incompetent to still have an application in process on December 12th...

I know what you mean in Canada when they started it took 8 days from the AOR to SA and file transfer which I was blown back by then in Vienna it just went silent.
Remember though we aren't too far from the finish line and there are individuals that have been waiting for years.
Please let me know if anything changes on your end as we are fairly close in the process.

You are absolutely correct. It’s unbelievable the amount of time that it takes. The application spent under a month in the Canadian office. They reviewed pages and pages and pages of documents, Background A declaratioms and Medical results. In less than a month they determined that everything is a-ok and it is taking Vienna 2 months or more to complete an elegibility check? It’s very very poor time management that is the fault of this.

I have been with my husband for 3 years. To have to wait this long is unbearable.

Well, it seems we're all experiencing very similar things. An exceptionally long wait for Vienna to process fairly straightforward details which is causing delays in our lives.

That being the case, I'm going to pursue a formal complaint about the office and process via my MP here. I can't but feel that at best the Vienna office is dangerously under-staffed, at worst they're incompetent to the point of being completely unfit for their purpose. Either way, their conduct does a great disservice to Canadian citizens.

That being the case, I'm going to pursue a formal complaint about the office and process via my MP here. I can't but feel that at best the Vienna office is dangerously under-staffed, at worst they're incompetent to the point of being completely unfit for their purpose. Either way, their conduct does a great disservice to Canadian citizens.

I guess it couldnt hurt to lodge a complaint, keep us updated.

"Your application is undergoing an assessment of the information you provided. We cannot provide a time frame as to when the assessment will be completed. However, we will contact you as soon as we have further information." and the waiting continues...

Got the exact same reply.. I guess thats the background check since mine started on Nov 6th when did yours start?

That's how they responded to me, they seem to be sending circularly to everyone

So they said they will contact you as soon as they have further information. By my understanding based on what previous applicants told me, The VO will not contact you until they A) either need an interview or B) they have approved the application (Some people don’t need interviews) So basically when they say “We will contact you as soon as we have further information.” They are again just telling us what we already know.

My Wife its applicant since May 24 File transfer to Vienna on August 2 since then no changes in the online accounts , do anyone of you guys are waiting since Ma y ?
