You're welcome! I still hope for good news soon even though it is not very realistically since our app has only been in Vienna for 8 months. I assume we have to be patient for another few months.

Vienna touched my application after 10 months. Hang in there 8)

10 months after you sent the application to Missisauga or 10 months after it was transferred to Vienna?

i cant answer your first question. On the license it depends on which provence you will be moving to? In ontario i think you just have to pass a few tests..

If you dont become a citizen before your passport expires you will have to come back and get a new passport or you might be able to renew it thru the serbian consulate in canada. With the new law for citizenship its 4 years....up until now it was 3 before you can apply. So you will have to renew your passport at sometime.

Hi Guys, just a few tips regarding drivers license. My husband just went through this so I think it will help. This is for Ontario, not sure about other provinces.
Get a letter from the police or ministry of transportation about a clean driving record and number of years you held a valid license. They do not accept translations from Serbia, but if you translate it here (cost $50), they will accept your experience and after the written test you can go directly for G road test. (skip the G2, graduating license).
Regardless, you have to do a written and road test. If you fail the G road test you will have to go to G2, and after a year, for G again.

I just looked it up, and it seems like there are no restrictions as to how long you can use the international drivers license when visiting. here is the link :

10 months after I sent the application to Mississauga

For the driver's licence: It depends from which country you are. As a German I just had to pay 25 dollars to get my Canadian licence. No test needed

Do you happen to know if the same applies in BC? Do I need to have a certified translation of my drivers license? For example to proof which classes I am allowed to drive?

For BC, check the ICBC website:
