Hi everybody,
I also applied for PR out-land in Sept.2013.My office is in Vienna. They received file in October.I have CSQ approval.
I am currently in Quebec.I can stay only 6moths,but I don't know if everything ll be over till than.

My questions are:
If they require interview,ll I need to go to Vienna or it can be done in Quebec?
If in meantime I get PR,ll I need to exit from Canada, and reentry again or no,since I am in Canada?
If they ask for PPR,should I send my passport to Vienna from Canada,to visa been issued?or they can issue me visa in Quebec?

I have million questions, this waiting killing me,from getting approved CSQ,nothing,no news.

If anybody knows the answers, thanks in advance.good luck to everybody.

Welcome to the forum.

1) Interview will be in Vienna
2) You have to "land" as a PR by crossing the border and come back into Canada. You can drive to the closest US border and "flagpole" or leave and re-enter the country by plane
3) Are you from a visa-exempt country? If yes, you won't get a PPR. You will just receive your COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) by mail. Make sure your address is updated with CIC. If you are from a non-exempt country you have to send your passport to Vienna

Also,
When does 6-months expire?
Can you extend your stay beyond that?

If you can, sit tight, wait for their instructions, and when the time comes you can leave/re-enter as little_apple said OR (and I am not 100% sure, you may want to double-check) you could schedule a landing interview at the immigration visa office in Montreal. Not sure if there are any other Quebec specific steps you need to go through.

It's so frustrating. I even wrote a 2 page explanation letter to explain everything we did and why and when. My initial application was an inch thick, now I'm sending almost another inch. GCMS notes after 9 months showed: NOTHING! Doc request came after 10 months. All that time my file was just sitting there. They make it so difficult for honest people. We decided not to get married for immigration purposes but going the longer way via common-law. A mistake, I believe now... :-(

In your initial application did you include evidence supporting that you lived at the old address prior to the 20th of April 2012? According to your timeline your application was received by CIC on April 20th 2013. Since your relationship status is logged in at that date you need to prove that you lived together for at least one year prior to that date. Technically everything beyond that point is not if high interest for CIC.

If you sent evidence dated prior to April 20th 2012 I am out of ideas why they requested the documents again ...

We moved in together on April 20, 2012 and applied on April 20, 2013. CIC received my application on April 24, 2013. Was this too early??

It is close! But in theory you are fine since you "lived" together for a year and 4 days prior to the application being received by CIC and therefore you are considered common-law. However you have to proof to CIC that you actually moved in before April 24th 2012. Do you by any chance have mail delivered to you under the address dated prior to April 24th 2012?

Hey Guys...

My APPLICATION STATUS has been changed to "In Process" on Saturday and it says we started processing ur app. since 25th Feb.

Thanks

My first mail arrived in May, 2012 (envelope from my Mom with custom declaration for birth control pill - included in PR application). The only one who can confirm that I moved in is our old landlord. My SIN card, bank card etc were sent to another address in the end of March 2012 where I stayed before.

I have no idea. Sad enough to see that it took them so long to start processing your application :-(

Unfortunately I'm not one of these people who keeps old emails and posts too much on Facebook. I went through everything to find old messages in which I told friends and family that I moved in. But no... The German tidiness is a disadvantage in my case...

the most changed factor was that BERLIN office closed and all files shifted to vienna.. else we were through too early!! anyways notthing to worry about... Always remain happy.. as it removes SADNESS!!

Congratulation Newpal
