Hi Nada & Newpal,

I too received the same response from them in early spring that background verification was under way and since it involved third parties, they have no control over how long it takes.
when have you applied?

Because my app just got there in September, so 12 months from that IF everything is in order and no more delays...
I don't even expect to hear a word from them till next late spring, when they will send me to redo the medical which expires at the end of May 2014...
Ohhhh if it would be only 6 months, my God, I would be more than happy, but the fact is it's not.

Hello Guys

I have some good news to share with you. I got an email from my lawyer today that my passport is ready and I should contact FedEx to pick up my passport. :) :) :) :) :). I wish you all of you to finish with the immigration procedure as soon as possible.

Congrats!!! I am very happy for you. All the best in your new life in Canada :)

Our time lines are the same and I was looking at the spreadsheet from last year and people who applied around the same time last year had gotten their visas within 5-8 months and of course a few had to wait a bit longer. But let's hope that in May we're trying to buy the flight ticket or better than that, by May we're there and since you're also going to Vancouver and maybe in May 2014 the both of us are sitting down and having a cup of coffee or tea ( I'll make cookies)

I am thinking of sending another inquiry to Vienna....Not sure if I should do it. I am at 13 months total processing time already, 11 months in Vienna.
Does someone have any experience in contacting the MP? Can that help or push things along?

That would be GREAT :)

Just thought of something. I already have another case that has been running since early 2010 (Federal Skilled Worker program) and I'm gonna ask for CAIPS next month.

Can't those of you who have been waiting long ask for that as well just to see what the heck they are doing?

Hi guys, i'm gonna have to be a bother again or i'm going to lose my mind.
My legal assistant edited my letter. She did a good job. Didn't change anything, just took out what she thought was 'philosophy' and 'judgmental' statements i made. In other words, she took out the 'oomph' from it all, but it still sounds solid. I hope.
Now, because of the horrid ex assistant, i'm now being told all my 20 or so friends who wrote us letters need to redo them. Every. Single. One.
Why? Because the letters never mention when each person met me or my husband, where, with who, what the weather was like, what time of day, was it a leap year... (i wish i was kidding... i am about the weather and leap year...).
I don't even remember my engagement date. I can't remember what i ate last week.
All the letters say (long and short) is what i was told they should say: what the friend/family member truly thinks of our relationship. That is all. Is the assistant right? Do the letters from friends and family have to be like a timeline too? (she says she's seen cases lose because this wasn't done...) This is a nightmare.

I'm so tired... I've been in exile for a year, and STILL have not sent in the application because of someone else's errors. ???
