I have absolutely no idea, but we decided not to go after my formal pr, just wait and go on with the sponsorship. My husband will come for a visit, I really hope he will come very very soon but I know his/our financial situation so I it might be in the first part of next year :'(

just thought i would write in here to give you guys hope that vienna is still working...
so i was living with my husband in germany because i didnt know that a PR is not allowed to be outside canada if the apply outland...so as soon as we found out me and my son moved back to canada on July 10, 2013, but me and my husband didnt want to be seperated so we decided he should come here to and stay at home with our son and i would work.. so thats what we are doing my husband just came on September 14, 2013 and he send vienna an email that he will be visiting and living with me for 6 month and they replied today askingus to send in a scanned copy of his valid passport, so i dont know is that a passport request? what do you guys think?

Is your husband German? If yes, I don't think he will get a passport request because Germany is visa-exempt. Maybe they just want to see that he has a legal status in Canada. I had to send a copy of my passport / visa stamp along with my application, too because I applied outland while being in Canada.

I agree, we wont get a ppr because we are visa exempt. I suppose they want a proof of your email, that he is in CA make sure you copy the stamp as well, entering the at the border.

Oooh, this is interesting, for Visa exempt countries! Mine is visa exempt too (Croatia) and i've never really thought to ask what in the world will happen if and when they give us the green light. Since they have a copy of my passport on file within the application, what happens? Do they send us a document to travel with so we can land?

Hi there!

You will get the so called COPR (Certificate of Permanent Residence)
In the older days this used to be called Landing document
What it is actually is a A4 type page with your info printed on it and your new status.

My consultant actually recently sent in my new passport which had me all excited because it took me foooour long stressful months to get my Dutch passport renewed due to the fact it hadnt been renewed since I turned 18. Anyways that was a big load off my back, now all I have to worry about is getting an email from Vienna. I know exactly how u feel Tom. The name Vienna makes me cringe, I see it everywhere ! You know how you never hear of a place and all of a sudden because now it's in your life, you see it everywhere? Vienna is stalking my life ! Lol !

So tomorrow it will be the 7th month since Vienna received my app, I am hoping for good news soon but who knows, can't hope for too much. My boyfriend always says there is no point in worrying, it is out of our control now and whatever happens, happens.

Actually we can and I think we do talk about other things than Vienna and the waiting time, etc. This is about something more, we are in a special relationship, offering a lot Look at me, I just found out a week ago that even Netherland goes through Vienna plus I've studied the Dutch flag at the same time for a lifetime :-[


Angie, I am happy to see you here. Yes, the COPR oooohhhhh how faaaaaaaaaar it is, my Gosh... especially for me... but it's okay, I am not complaining... Tom, was this Landing document the same as the Record of Landing? I got my Mom's here, looks good, except that it's totally useless by now... unbelievable, that I always had the chance to go back soooooooooooooooo easily, and never even tried... If only I wasn't told that Julius was already taken... I was only 19, holding the money in my hand for the trip (and even a lot more) , ready to go, but then I gave it up... and spent the money to attend to the college. Life could be really interesting and cruel I guess.

It's cold here in Hungary, I need to turn the heat on brrrrrr.
