That is crazy! I am the applicant and my boyfriend is the sponsor and we are both in Canada. He is Canadian and I am Dutch. If, god forbid, they request an interview, will we both need to attend? I am assuming so.. Just really hope we dont need one!

why do you think they would call you for an interview? is there something specific you are concerned about?
I haven't heard of a dutch applicant going for the interview yet, in most cases they raise flags with cases where the applicant could be looking for better economic/personal interests from his/her stay in Canada that he/she wouldn't get in their home country.
Seeing as you are from a visa exempt country with equal if not better living standards than Canada and you are already living together I wouldn't worry about having to go to an interview.
And I think only the applicant attends the interview.

In my personal opinion I think they should arrange interviews near the person who they want to interview. I just stress about my application because even though we have been living together for 3 years I felt like we didn't provide enough proof ! But I am sure i am just worrying too much

L.V.f don't worry about it. Our application package was super thin when we mailed it too. I just sent about 20 pics, plane tix and some screenshots of our email account. We stuck to the boxes provided in the forms and did not write 10 page romance novels.The fact that you're living/have lived together goes a long way. I really doubt they will call you for an interview, though I agree it should be more flexible when they do. But looks like government cuts are affecting immigration as well, unfortunately we were affected by it as well.

Still no news after re-medical and landing fee request

for us neither though I don't expect to get anything for another few weeks. Hubby redid his medical a month ago, it's been in the RMO for 2 weeks now. Given our track record I don't keep my hopes up for a speedy process anymore.

SanBean, right now we are trying to gather as much info as possible. After we will receive official refusal letter with apeal forms i will send it to whatever apeal address and then will go from there.
The behaviour was disgusting i still cant believe that she was canadian, would never expect that.

Lenchik, sorry to hear that your interview went so awful. I wish you all the best and good luck in fixing this and getting PR for you husband.

Europe there is nothing to worry once redo Ur medical it will Take min. 3mon or max 5 Mon
I did my re med After my Interview AMD i got desicion made on 18feb 3,5month After Interview And i am a German And i went for Interview as well. There is nothing to worry just have Passion.

Mase after you went for the interview , you redid your medical , and after you were in bbackround check, but for us , we had interview, and in the january our backround check told us is done , but we just need to redo the medical and dont forget that the backropund check is taking from 3-5 months, that is why you wait longer
