it is to know what CIC has done on your file so far, provides you all detailed information, comments of CIC officer..any verifications done, communication with you( like when they sent you test notice, initial acknowledgement...etc)

I just called CIC to check my status.

The agent said they sent a citizenship test letter last Thursday!
yay, my test date is Aug 19th. just right before starting my school.

my timeline is
Application received on February 14, 2014.
Started processing the application on March 27, 2014.
Test date on August 19th, 2014 ;D
