hey everyone. the test on march 6 was funny. I mean the test itself is pretty easy, so it took me about 10 minutes tops to do it (with a re-check of everything), and over 40 minutes to get my results! I thought OCR fill in the letters test results where pretty much instant. I guess the time is in sorting through them and matching them to your file. It didn't seem to match in any way the order in which people finished the test.
Anyway, I've got decision made pretty much the day after, but when I click, it still mentions my notice/invite to go write the test! I'm still taking it as a positive. I was pretty relieved and happy to have passed the test in itself (it's the culmination of a 14-15 year process), so we did celebrate after, canadian style (my wife's a local). Now just psyched about the ceremony and assuming ECAS runs a bit behind.

This is normal. The listing on ecas will not update until you're sent the invitation to the citizenship ceremony.

They explicitly tell you not to share the questions and doing so could jeopardize your application.

Just read the book and take online practice tests and you'll be fine.

It's forbiden to share the questions but if you read the book and pratice online you will be just fine!
And for the interview it depends on your case and the officer that you will have. Mine she only checked my id's (i stayed 3 minutes at the booth) but i saw a woman, she stayed more than 15 minutes showing tons of paperwork....

Hi All,

Vancouver based, I have been a silent reader for the past 6 months. I now am sharing my experience to help those who might still be awaiting.

Application sent: Oct 11th, 2017
Application Delivered: October 18, 2017
AOR: December 1st, 2017
In process: January 8th, 2018
Citizenship Test Email invite: February 7th, 2018
Test: March 7th, 2018
ECAS Status changed/updated to Decision Made: March 8th, 2018

The test was extremely simple & easy. I finished under 3min and got 20/20. Maybe I over-prepared, But the questions are simple and straightforward, and most of them are simple facts that most people should know anyhow. If you give the Guide 1 or 2 reads you should be more than qualified to pass it.

The Interview after the test was simple as well. The Officer was very friendly, she asked what I thought of the test, then made some lovely small talk, She only checked my ID (Driver licence), PR card, then my passports (Current & Expired) to match the stamps to the days I stated on my application & Calculator (Couple US & South America trips). I was told that everything looks good, and they just have to wait for the security clearance. I should Expect an update in the next 3-12 weeks.

My ECAS was updated the next day to "Decision made", so I am waiting on receiving an Email or Mail to see what that means exactly.

Overall, I Started at 8h15, and was out by 8hr58. I believe some others would've had a much longer day.

PS: As stated, I definitely over-prepared for the test and went in with a lot of confidence. For the curious ones, I used (http://www.citizenshipsupport.ca) to prepare and it was fantastic. They do provide a free sample test, but I paid $29 to access the whole thing. Now that I am done, anyone interested, I still have a year access. But really, you hardly need anything beyond reading the guide as the test was really that simple.

Believe it or not, but there is also a great CBC series (Released last spring), it's a 10 parts/episodes series that covers the history of Canada from the Vikings to 2017. It is super patriotic and makes you proud and eager to become a Canadian and a part of this great nation. I recommend you give it a watch:

Could I have the citizenshipsupport access of yours just until next week - my test is on March 15. I will PM you.

Thanks :)

Thanks yaa...

The letter I got says this is the final notice to appear and write the test. However I never received the first. Call centre confirmed it was mistake from their end as they never sent the first one.

But I am glad they have not scheduled me in the last week of March as I am not gonna be here.

Excited to have found this thread! Here's my timeline:

Applied: Oct 18 2017
AOR: Nov 27 2017
IP: Jan 6 2018
Test invite: Feb 28 2018
Test: Mar 28 2018

I've seen the oath invitation is taking usually a month from previous posts/threads, even though CIC website says it can take up to 6 months. I have travel scheduled overseas in April, does anyone know if I mentioning that during the interview should be ok? I will mention anyways, it doesn't hurt asking! A great weekend to all!
