Hi,
I have submitted a Study Permit application online but unlike the previous year, I was not able to submit a Temporary resident visa with my Study Permit application.

I currently have a visa for Canada as a student that expires on the 31st/08/2014. If I were to obtain my study permit prior to that date and travel few days before or on the expiry date of my visa, would I be able to enter Canada using my current Visa or do I have to apply for a new one?

On Canada's government website, it states the expiry date is not the date by which i must leave the country but the date in which I can last enter the country. So it would make sense if I could still travel on my Temporary resident visa that expires on the 31st/08/2014 and apply for an extension inside of Canada when I arrive. Rather than applying for a new one and not getting it on time for my Fall 2014 semester, which could cause me missing a whole semester.

Also the immigration officer stamped my passport and wrote under it "31 august 2014", which means I have to leave the country before that date. If i were to enter prior to that date again, will i get another stamp with a later date to leave?

Sorry for the long post,
Thank you in advance!

You need TRV, not SP, to enter Canada. Whatever you do, but must enter Canada before 31st August, 2014.
