Valid PR card and new issue of PR Card

This is just a hypothetical question.
Suppose somebody has a valid PR card for next 7-8 months. Person apply for PR card renewal. After person leave Canada for short duration. When person is out of canada a new pr card is issued. However as person is out of canada - can he travel with previous valid PR card. I understand as Card is still valid Airline allow him to board plane. But as far as I understand Card will be cancelled in system. Will person face any problem while entering Canada. Once he enter he will collect new pr card and old card will be of no use. Please Advise.

1. Yes you can still travel as the card is valid.

As far as I know, the old card is not cancelled in the system.
