Thanks @cleo007 , but reschedule option is not appearing i still have more than a month for the appointment date.
Not sure how long it will take to have new RTD, do you think i should take a chance on the existing RTD, its 5 months and few days left (less than 6 months)
My brother rtd was expired and he returned from the door. 5 months not qualify visa rule not only us most countries consulate recommend more than 6 months. For more contact visa support team by email

I called the consulate , they told me you booked the appointment 14 months ago and you can only rescheduled within 12 months after paying the visa fees. so i cant rescheduled the appointment. Also asked me to cancel the appointment and pay the fees again which i am not going to do, as i will not be able to get early appointments. Although i will try to appear on the appointment day. Lets see if they allow me to get in or not.

How long is it taking to get an appointment for a US visa? - the only appointments I saw available in Toronto are in May 2027.

Appointment wait times can currently stretch into months or even years. To get the best slot without the headache of constant rescheduling, follow this simple strategy - it worked for me:

1 - Complete your payment first: Pay the required fees, but do not rush to book a slot immediately afterward.

2 - Wait for the daily refresh: New appointment slots are released every day at 7PM EST.

3 - Log in and grab a date: Log in exactly at 7 PM to find and select the closest available opening.

By waiting for the evening refresh instead of taking whatever is left over during the payment time, you significantly increase your chances of finding the nearest date. If it's still showing months or years ahead, don't schedule on that day. Just skip and try the next day. This ensures you get a better slot from the start and saves you the effort of trying to hunt for a reschedule later.

Good luck!
