You will need to do a new DS 160 with updated information and replace the existing one in the appoinment portal atleast 3 business days to your appoinment. For the passport 6 months is a requirement my advice will be apply for a anew one before then .They are very strict on that!Hi,
I have a few questions about my upcoming visa interview. I scheduled the appointment about 1.5 years ago, and some things have changed since then:
- My passport will only be valid for 5 months, but the requirement says it needs to be valid for at least 6 months.
- I’ve visited a few new countries since filling out my DS‑160. How do I update that information?
- There’s also a new family member I need to add. How should I update the DS‑160 for that?
From what I understand, the DS‑160 on my appointment letter has to match the one I submitted originally, so I’m not sure if I can complete a new form. Please correct me if I’m mistaken.
Am not sure about your case but my brother had appointment last year, and he’s RTD was expired and they returned him from the document check table near to entrance. I think you will deal with those security table before reaching visa officer. Thanks @cleo007 , but reschedule option is not appearing i still have more than a month for the appointment date.
Not sure how long it will take to have new RTD, do you think i should take a chance on the existing RTD, its 5 months and few days left (less than 6 months)
Dont take any chance with those us folks.they are VERY STRICT!you wont even get pass security. Your passport is checked Two times before you meet the main interview officer. Thanks @cleo007 , but reschedule option is not appearing i still have more than a month for the appointment date.
