Make sure you fill the form correctly and include a return prepaid envelope (I used a USPS prepaid priority envelope). The Indian Embassy is quick in processing your request, however, if there is any issues with the form they usually call, especially after the Modi government came in power. During he UPA regime, they would just return the paperwork without even stating why they have refused it.

But, its better to be safe than sorry.

Can you please let me know on whose name the money order or bankers cheque have to be taken.

I mean what should be the Payee name on money order or bankers cheque.

The certified check, money order should be made payable to "Consulate General of India, New York"

I got only PPR in email.

My CIC is still the same ... no notifications there .. is that normal ???

Congratulations! Yes, that is normal. Did you receive a ghost email and what is your timeline?
 
I see my CIC shows 'UPDATED' status today
