Hello,

I am a US Citizen living in the USA and plan to marry my fiance who is a Canadian Citizen (born and lives there) in November 2011. I intend to move to Canada with my new husband after our wedding in November. We are assuming the Spousal Sponsorship is the best route to go...However, I am looking for advice from anyone who has been in this or a similar situation. One of my questions is; after our wedding, if we\'ve sent off our paperwork for Spousal Sponsorship, will I be able to go to Canada with my new husband, like on a Visitor Record, or what will I be able to do?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Sarlah

You can go "visit" with your husband once you are married...You can't work though unless you find an employer who is willing to do an LMO for you. Start your application process now and gathering all the evidence you can to prove your relationship. Do the FBI clearance and the medical portion closer to the date you file. If you are going to be in Canada, the information that I have read, and from experience, it is cheaper by a few hundred dollars to do the medical in Canada...I am currently in the process of sponsoring my husband from the US...if you need any advice inbox me and I will help with what I know!!
